

DeeAnn was born in Ponca City Oklahoma to George and Phyllis Fenton and raised in Amarillo, Texas she was 72 years of age when he went to the Lord. DeeAnn graduated in 1978 from West Texas State with a bachelor’s degree in science. In March of 2003, she graduated from West Texas State with a master’s degree in education.
DeeAnn married Randy Carruth on June 9, 1979, in Amarillo, Texas at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Thence starting a lifetime of adventures with her husband. She was a loving mother to her two sons, being there for everything from PTA room mom to Cub Scout den mom, and the occasional backyard referee between her two boys if she wasn’t cheering them on at one of their many sports activities. She had a huge heart for giving back and volunteering. She started her journey at St. Peter’s with being on the vestry along with volunteering for the church BBQ and the youth programs, then later becoming the head of the high school youth program.
DeeAnn started her career out working for the State Center while working on her master’s in education. Once she graduated, she started out at Sam Houston Middle School then worked her way through San Jacinto, Robert E. Lee and ending up at Coronado Elementary. She was able to touch the lives of so many kids while making friends everywhere she went.
She loved to travel and see the world. From the early ages of being a Girl Scout and camping outdoors to the family camping trips whether it be in a pop-up camper or one of the many family ski trips. She always loved the time they got to spend together as a family. Later in life she was able to experience world travel with her husband Randy and friends. She especially fell in love with Italy. Along with many other trips with friends.
DeeAnn was very involved in giving back to the community through the church and her charity groups. She was the president of the local Soroptimist chapter helping to raise funds to empower women and the girl’s facing obstacles of life. She also stood by her husband and joined in when she could with the Khiva Shriners.
DeeAnn is preceded in death by her father George and mother Phyllis Fenton.
She is survived by her husband Randy Carruth, and two sons Casey Carruth and Krista Maddox of Midland and Josh Carruth and Nicole Frederick with granddaughter Elliana of Dallas, Texas. One brother Patrick Fenton and wife Clarice Fenton of Lubbock, Texas. Nephew Cory Fenton of Amarillo and niece Keegan Fenton of Houston, Texas.
