Diane Denton

Diane Denton “Gammy”, age 73, of Amarillo passed from this world on Thursday July 28,2022. Diane was born January 28, 1949. She is rejoicing to be united with the savior, Jesus Christ, and delighted to be reunited with the love of her life. Diane spent 50 years with her lifetime love, Jimmy Denton, whom she lost 8 months ago. She retired from J.O. Wyatt Clinic after many years of clerical work. Diane took joy in caring for those around her. She enjoyed her grandchildren most of all. When a fork was being waved around, everyone knew Diane was serious. Diane was not fearsome to jokingly threaten, and was an avid user of many unique phrases. Diane was passionate about Starbucks and family. She ensured anyone who graced her presence felt cherished and loved. Her family believes she is dancing with her husband in Heaven. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Denton, parents: A.J. “Pete” Matthews, Leveta Flowers Matthews, brother, Andrew “Buddy” Matthews and wife Cathy Matthews, sister, Helen Earley, grandchildren: Brayden Hicks, and two unborn babies. Survivors include children; Faith Denton Evans along with "Handsome Jimmy" Loyd, Farrel Denton, Theresa Willard, grandchildren: Brittany Leach and Gary Leamer, MacKenzie Leach and Jacob Turner, Montana Williams, Cody Williams, four great grandbabies: Paizley Burk, David Williams, Malia Williams, Garrett Hicks, sister, Pamela Lafrance, brother in-law Henry Earley, many beloved nieces, nephews and adopted family members.
