

Eloy Diego Arguello, age 95, of Logan, New Mexico passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Eloy was born to Diego and Genoveva Arguello on April 29, 1928, at Albert, NM. Eloy had three brothers and five sisters. Eloy went to school in Albert, NM and then joined the Army Air Corps on January 14, 1947. Eloy then married Rafaelita Archuleta on September 27, 1948, and had five children.
Eloy worked as a rancher and always volunteered to help others work cattle. He worked for the Village of Logan in which he retired in December 1990. He always like to go fishing and hunting with all his family and friends. Eloy raised his brother and sisters as his father passed at an early age. He has raised his children and grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren to be strong and never give up.
Eloy always enjoyed helping & volunteering at the American Legion Post #77 in which he served as Sergeant of Arms. He served as the Assistant Bingo Manager from 1999 to 2000. Eloy always volunteered to help the American Legion Post #77 with various projects. Eloy volunteered to assist with the Amarillo VA Bricklaying Ceremonies for American Legion Post #77 which honored veterans who had passed. He participated in many Memorial Day programs in memory of his family and friends who were veterans.
Eloy was preceded in death by his wife Rafaelita Arguello of 73 years, son Larry Arguello, parents Diego and Genoveva Arguello, sisters: Carmen Gonzales, Elvira Baca, Tillie Archuleta, Corrine Baca, Jane Sandoval and brothers: Leo Arguello, Victor Arguello.
Eloy is survived by one sister Annie Bailey, Tucumcari NM, and one brother Johnny Arguello, Las Lunas, NM and four children: Barbara Arguello, Clovis, NM, Dorothy & Rich Wilson, Logan, NM, James Arguello and wife Alice of San Jon, NM and Nora Arguello & Ron Radford of Amarillo, TX. Seven grandchildren, Steven Arguello, Valerie Gallegos, Rachael Gallegos, Heather Martinez, Calandra Schanzebach, Mendy Kaufmann and Danny Shetter. Twelve great grandchildren: Tamara Butler, Jessica Aguilera, Andrew Aguilera, Josh Gallegos, Jacob Gallegos, Rylan Calbert, Logan Schanzebach, Parker & Nathan Kauffman. Hayden, Jaxon and Kinsley Shetter. Eleven great - great grandchildren: Elexus Butler, Aaron Butler, Aliya Gallegos, Delilah Gallegos, Kamdyn Aguilera, Kaleb Sanchez, Eloy Aguilera, Isaiah Aguilera, Amalia Calbert, Caelan Calbert, Lucas Fernando Gallegos.
Rosary will be held on Jan 27th, 2024 at 09:30 am, to follow will be the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00am at San Antonio Catholic Church, located 907 Armijo St, Logan NM, with father Johnpaul Afuecheta Akachukwu officiating. Burial will be at the Logan Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Steven Arguello, Andrew Aguilera, Josh Gallegos, Jacob Gallegos and Rylan Calbert.
