A viewing will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40 in Amarillo on Sunday, April 5, 2020 from 1pm to 5pm. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Esmel, better know as "Steve", was born in Tucumcari, New Mexico on May 17, 1954 to Esmel Domingo and Mary Lillian (Luera) Garcia. in 1956, the family moved to Amarillo, Texas. In October of 1983, he married Deborah Hernandez, and together, the couple welcomed their only son, Randy Garcia.
Steve loved to connect with people as there was not an indifferent bone in his body. He had the ability to bring anyone who was down on their luck a good laugh as he brought enlightenment to any situation. He loved life, and never complained about anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Lilly. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Deborah, son Randy Garcia of Amarillo; four sisters Teresa Encinias of Clovis, New Mexico, Patsy Velasquez and Dorothy Garcia of Amarillo, and Angie Gonzales of Canyon, four brothers Edward, Ernest, Robert, and David Garcia all of Amarillo; and his aunt Betty Earle and husband Ken of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
