He was born January 15, 1945 to parents Phillip and Millie Fry in Denver Colorado. He grew up in the Denver area along with his parents and his younger brother. At 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged due to medical reasons. Soon after, he moved to Kremmling Colorado. There he helped out on his uncle‘s ranch. A few years later, he was working as a cook at Jerry’s Café in downtown Kremmling, where he met his first wife, Janice. They were married in June of 1969. Together they raised four children.
It was there in Kremmling, that Foster began studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses. On June 1st of 1972 he symbolized his dedication in water baptism. Over the following years, he would work tirelessly to provide for his young family. Foster was a dedicated family man and a hard worker. He also took interest in teaching others about Jehovah God. He attended meetings of Jehovah’s Witnesses and supported the forming of a new congregation in Granby, Colorado.
He owned and operated his own logging business for many years before moving his family to Texas in 1988. From there, he worked many jobs, including working for the school district as a bus driver. It was during that time he met his second wife. He married Maria Delia on December 17, 2007. He became the stepfather to four beautiful girls, a role he deeply cherished. In the years that followed, he worked as a bus driver for the city of Amarillo, which he retired from in August of 2017. During his years of retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed spending time woodworking, which was one of his favorite hobbies. He had a special fondness for animals, including neighborhood strays and the family dog, Scrappy.
It was during those later years that Foster also spent a considerable amount of time in service to his Heavenly Father, Jehovah. Both learning more himself, and teaching others about the truths he found. He regularly supported his local congregation in meeting attendance and service. His sincere interest for others and gratitude for life was evident to all whom he met. These past few months, he had great fondness too for those in the Amarillo VA Hospice Care team. Your care, compassion, and kindness is something he held dear. It’s something we greatly appreciate, especially during this time.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Delia Fry. Eight children, Tad and his wife Alisha Fry, of Colorado. Kathy and her husband Paul McClain, of Altus, Oklahoma.
