

Georgia Goodman, 82 of Canyon died Sunday, January 29, 2012 in Clarendon. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel of Memories. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Georgia was born July 3, 1929 in Hillsboro to W.A. and Esther Mandrell. She worked as a pediatric nurse at Kilgore Children’s Hospital here in Amarillo. She was a life-time member of the Bonita Chapter of the Eastern Star, which is now the Amarillo Chapter. Georgia loved to garden and loved her Lord. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, along with her husband Harmon. She was very active in the church until she became home bound due to her illness. Georgia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be truly missed by all who knew her and loved her. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents and by her two brothers, James Mandrell and Ray Mandrell. Georgia is survived by her husband, Harmon Goodman of Clarendon; sons, David Goodman and wife Cindy of Canyon and William Harmon Goodman; grandchildren, Michael Goodman of Honolulu, Hawaii, Valorie Johnson and husband Andrew of Germany, Aimee Goodman of Amarillo and Brandon Goodman of Los Angeles, California; she is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren. The family suggest memorials be sent to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 706 Haddonfield Road Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08002. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
