

joined the National Guard in Raton, NM. He was a "sharpshooter/ sky sweeper".
He was honorably discharged 6/1/61.
Harvey met and married his wife Donna Young July 18, 1953 in Raton.
He began his lifelong career as a long haul truck driver for Red Ball Motor Freight
in Raton where he continued to work until Red Ball ceased business in 1982.
Harvey had followed his career with Red Ball, moving his family from Raton, to
Colorado Springs, to Dallas, to Denver, and eventually to Amarillo in 1971.
After the demise of Red Ball Motor Freight, Harvey began working and retired
from Liquid Air of Borger, TX.
Harvey loved to watch Professional Wrestling. He also loved to watch NASCAR
racing and enjoyed going to the races at Amarillo Speedway where he liked to take
pictures of the drivers and their cars. Bowling was also a favorite family
entertainment with Harvey getting his grandchildren on Bowling Leagues and
spending quality time with them.
In recent years, after his retirement, playing Bingo had become one of his favorite
past times! Harvey was a Christian and raised his 4 children to be honest, responsible,
hardworking members of society.
Also surviving Harvey, are his 3 children. A daughter, Sharon Payne;
sons Tim and wife, Ginny, of Amarillo and Faron Dallas.
Surviving Grandchildren: Aaron Dallas and girlfriend Chelsea Simmons; Jaime
and husband Sean Weathersbee; and Abby Dallas; Chad and wife Kelly Mahan.
Great Grandchildren: Jayden, Trinidy and Alivia. Bailey Mahan, Channing Mahan and fiance Tylor Barber; Kiley and Eastin Kelley.
Harvey was preceded in death by his son Dale A. Dallas and son-in-law Herbie
Payne; his parents Benjamin Lawrence Dallas and Stella Ruth Polk; 2 brothers,
Lonnie and Lawrence and 3 sisters Lucille, Norine, and Anita and 2 twin grandsons.
Visitation with Family will be Thursday, November 4th from 5 to 7 p.m. at
Memorial Park Funeral Home at I-40 and Whitaker Rd. in Amarillo. Graveside
Memorial Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
