

Helen M. Hinders, 79 of Amarillo passed away July 17, 2013. Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Monsignor Harold Waldow as Celebrant. Mass of Christian burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Helen was born September 30, 1933 in Honeygrove, Texas to Johnny and Audrey Strawn. She was raised in Borger and Amarillo. Helen married Ben Hinders on May 28, 1953 in Sanford, Texas. She enjoyed reading and puzzle books and she loved to laugh. She was a devoted homemaker her entire life who loved taking care of her family. One of her biggest joys was playing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ben Hinders; sons, Johnny Hinders and Garry Hinders and daughter, Benedicta Hinders. Helen is survived by her daughters, Mary McNatt and husband Rand, Terri Parker and Tish Richardson all of Amarillo and Billie Bissinger of Mustang, Oklahoma; son, Chris Hinders and fiancé Lisa Rubsaman of Canyon; brothers, Delbert Franklin of Fritch and Ronnie Franklin of Stinnett; sister, Sue Mitchell of Borger; her step-mother, Ruby Strawn of Arlington; also by 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
