Jackie lived a life marked by curiosity, hard work, and an appreciation for the world around him. He had a love for photography and enjoyed capturing special moments and memories through the lens of his camera. He also had a passion for travel and treasured the opportunity to see new places and experience new things.
Jackie was a man who enjoyed staying busy and took great pride in his work with AT&T. His career was an important part of his life and reflected his strong work ethic and desire to remain active and productive.
Jackie was married to Linda Wakefield, with whom he shared his life and family. Linda preceded him in death in 2004.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Noel Wakefield and Louise Cherry Wakefield; and his sister, Charolett Dennis.
Jackie is survived by his son, William Wakefield; his grandchildren, Tommy Wakefield, Jason Wakefield, and Kelly Bennett; as well as a host of extended family members and cherished friends.
Jackie will be remembered for the life he lived, the memories he captured, the places he traveled, and the many relationships he built along the way. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends who knew and loved him.
Family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 East I-40, Amarillo, Texas, on September 17, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Graveside Service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6969 East I-40, Amarillo, Texas, on September 18, 2026, at 11:00 am.
