Jim was born August 31, 1929 in McRae, AK to Milton and Virginia Garrison. Jim and Carolyn were
married in July, 1985 in Las Vegas, NV. Jim proudly served 22 years in the United States Air Force retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. His later years were spent working for Northwest Texas Hospital and then he worked as a Deputy for the Potter County Sheriff's Office. Upon final retirement he gave several more years as a reserve Deputy,resulting in a total of 33 years in law enforcement.
Jim was a Baptist and loved the lord and gospel music.The family would like to thank the staff at the Veterans Administration Hospital for their loving care of Jim. Special thanks to Bryan, Nancy, Robin, Kim, Melanie, Katy and Crystal for their support to the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the hospital in care of the CLC (Community Living Center) that cares for Alzheimer's Patients.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Charles and a daughter, Candice Sowell.
Jim is survived by his wife Carolyn, a son, Bill Garrison and wife Lisa of Amarillo. Daughters Angela
Garrison and Amy Nelson both of Phoenix, AZ. Daughter Brenda Moore and husband David of
Amarillo. Stepson Michael Godwin and wife Kelli of Amarillo. Stepdaughter Michelle Ward and
husband Rodney of Lubbock, Tx. Jim had 14 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren with one more
on the way, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. He also has many more family members and long time
friends that will miss him dearly.
