James and I started working at Affiliated 32 years ago.
When I met James I found him to be great person to work with and be around. He always cared about people. We became good friends over the years. If he had a task to do he would work on it until it was finished, it didn't matter if it was at home or at work. Over the years I learned about his family, his wife Jean which he loved very much, his kids and now his grand kids which were his world. He would tell me some of his life story like how he met Jean at church camp when they were in high school. So being around him I felt I got to know his family and enjoyed hearing about the things they did and his plans for the future. I have lost a friend and person I could talk to when I needed to. Rest in peace my friend.

I met James about 15 years ago at affiliated and ever since then every time I would see him I would yell out his name with a long crescendo and he would try and reply the same......

I met James Hughes when he fell in love with my best friend Jean. Great summer at Camp Hoblitzelle. They both loved and adored each other. James was the sweetest guy with a huge smile and a huge heart. Especially for his love Jean Ysaguirre Hughes. Had many laughs and memories. Many Saturday double dates with them two and my summer love.

I was blessed to be the maid of honor at their wedding one rainy and snowy day. Still remember it as if it was yesterday.

James had that smile and laughter that just brought you joy.

Memories that will always hold a special place in my heart. ❤

James was such a loving and sweet guy I met at camp hoblitzelle as a teenager. I admired the love he shared with Jean back then and how he loved her all these years later. He was a fun guy and I thank God I called him a friend. Praying for you, Jean and your family and praying for you Carl. May God's peace and comfort fall on you all.
