

James H. “Jimmy” Lytle, 86 of Amarillo passed away January 20, 2015. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell. Jimmy was born November 29, 1928 in Pawnee Co., Oklahoma to Alfred and Dosha Lytle. He moved to Borger at the age of 19 and attended Frank Phillips College. Jimmy married Dewolene Marr in 1949 in Borger and they were married for 66 years. He was the grocery manager for Jim’s Grocery in Borger for many years. He then retired after over 20 years of service in independent sales and specialty advertising for WestChem and Tower Products. Jimmy was a big sports fan and an avid golfer. He was a devoted member of AMBUCS and also Hillside Christian Church. Jimmy was very family oriented and was even known as the “President” of the family. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sherryl Wilhelm; 2 brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife, Dewolene Lytle; daughter, Carol Adams; grandsons, Shane, Matt and Jeff Adams and Brian Wilhelm; granddaughter, Tami Wilhelm; also by 8 great-grandchildren.
