James Harvey Miller

He was born on May 1, 1927 to Tom Dock and Alice Lucille Miller at their home in Claude, TX. He joined the Navy as soon as he finished school and served in WWII and Korea. On December 14, 1946 he married Wanda Schmidt. They were married for 57 years before she passed away. He served for 32 years on the Amarillo Fire Department and retired as Captain. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He also owned and operated Miller Plumbing Company for many years. He was a very caring person who loved helping others. He also loved fishing and nature and loved to cook.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents, 3 brothers, John, Bobby and Tom Henry, and 1 sister, Blanche, and 1 grandchild, Aimee Marie Pace.

Survivors include 2 sons, Kent Miller and Beverly of Amarillo, Dave Miller and Kathy of Florida, 2 daughters, Debbie Melton of Amarillo, Sandy Rorebeck and John of Amarillo, 1 sister, Virgina Galley of Amarillo, 7 grandchildren, Kristi Tollefson and Kyle, Mendi Miller and Jeff McPherson, Matt Miller and Katy, Sara, Shawna Winters and Brandon, Brayden Rorebeck, and Tyler Rorebeck, 8 great grandchildren, Kaylee, Koy, Cason, Maddox, Berkley, Taylor, Morgan, Breanne
