James Curtis "Curt" "PaPa" Rhynehart, age 85, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Curtis was born in Homer, Louisiana on February 2, 1938 to Clarence Aaron and Mabel Inez Bridwell Rhynehart.
Before joining the US Army Curtis lived in Nebraska and Ohio and moved to Amarillo after being discharged. He was the co-owner of Nunn Manufacturing for over 30 years. A couple of his hobbies he enjoyed in his younger years were racing figure 8 and drag racing. As he got older he enjoyed the outdoors including hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by Glenda Rhynehart, his parents, and a daughter Jamie Sue Rhynehart.
Curtis is survived by his son James Curtis Rhynehart, Jr. and wife Margarita; his brother Donnie Ray Rhynehart and wife Linda, his sisters Carrie Galatas of the Woodlands, Texas and Maura Haygood of San Angelo, Texas.
Grandchildren: Ayla, Kursty, Brenna, Stormie ,Montana, Dakota and step grandkids Adriana, Carlos and Bryan along with fourteen Great-grandchildren.
