
Janie was born on June 6, 1950, in Post, Texas, to Harold and Callie Strofer. She graduated from Post High School in 1968, laying the foundation for a life defined by dedication to family and hard work.
On August 27, 1970, she married the love of her life, Bill Widick, and together they built a strong and enduring marriage. Janie spent many years working for Education Credit Union.
Later, she joined her husband in his construction business, contributing to its success through her commitment and support.
Janie had a love for travel and cherished the experiences and memories made along the way, especially those shared with family. She will be remembered for her kindness, steady presence, and devotion to those she loved.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Widick; her son, Billy Widick of Vega, Texas; and her four sisters, Delores Redman of Post, Texas, Sue Meek of Hobbs, New Mexico, Joan Gross of Wolfforth, Texas, and Joy McMillan of Terry, Mississippi. She is also survived by several grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Callie Strofer.
Janie’s life was a testament to love, family, and quiet strength, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
