Janette Coller was born in Amarillo, Texas, and lived a blessed life with her sweetheart Bruce, for 62 years. Bruce was in the Air Force, stationed in Amarillo and they met at a roller rink when Janette was just 16. It was sweet love for them, and they were married when Bruce was 23 and Janette was 17. They were stationed in Georgia, where Janette graduated from high school. Later, they moved to Greenfield, Massachusetts where they lived until they moved to South Carolina in 2000, then to Amarillo in 2018.
Janette loved the outdoors. While living in Massachusetts she would often be found at their lake house out on the motorboat or the sailboat. They also lived on a beautiful lake in South Carolina.
If not out in the water, she would often be found working with plants and flowers. She had a green thumb, and still had plants that were offspring of plants that her dad gave her before she and Bruce were married. She and Bruce were very active with friends from the lake, both in MA and in South Carolina.
They enjoyed many camping trips with friends. Janette also enjoyed travelling, and crafts such as embroidery and cross stitch.
Janette had a sense of humor and enjoyed life. She loved to tell stories of when she was young and enjoyed hearing stories of her nieces’ families. Although she could not see very well, she always wanted to see pictures of what everyone was doing.
Janette loved Jesus and was ready to go to her heavenly home. During the last week of her life, she often said that she just wanted to go home, and to be with Jesus. Shortly before her passing she said that she was going to see Jesus soon and Bruce would be there to meet her.
Janette was greeted in heaven by her husband, Bruce Coller, parents John and Alta Bowden, and sisters Betty Jo Lobdell, and Lou Ella Bowden, and most importantly Jesus Himself. Janette will be missed greatly by nieces Ranaye Verdu and Regina Mejia with their families, nephews Johnny Holland and Kenneth Holland with their families, and cousins.
