During his military service, he was stationed in Germany, where he faithfully carried out his duties with honor, dedication, and pride. His service to his country was a source of great pride throughout his life. After his military service, Joe became a successful independent business owner, operating Wimpy’s Hamburgers for more than 20 years. He took great pride in serving his community and built lasting friendships with many of the people who walked through his doors. Later, he worked at AutoZone, where he enjoyed staying busy, helping customers, and sharing his knowledge with others. Joe was an intelligent man with a sharp mind and a talent for fixing almost anything. He especially enjoyed repairing cars and was always willing to lend a helping hand when someone needed his expertise. He also loved dancing, spending time at the river, and making memories with family and friends. His warm smile, generous spirit, and love of life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Cherry and Olivia Smith, and one brother; Don Cherry.
