A proud graduate of Texas Tech University, John channeled his passion for community service and leadership into various roles throughout his life. He served as the Chapter Director for the Top Wings Motorcycle Club and was the owner-operator of E-Way Automotive. John also made an impact in the Educational Sector, driving the longest bus route, Route 168, for Canyon Independent School District.
In the 1970s, John excelled in the West Texas Jaycees organization, serving as a National Director and later as the Administrative National Director from approximately 1970 to 1977. During his tenure, he earned the prestigious "Outstanding A.N.D." award in 1977. As the Jaycees had a maximum age limit of 35 or 36, John concluded his time with the organization upon reaching that milestone.
