Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 6pm to 8pm in the Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. A graveside service will be held in the Memorial Park Cemetery on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 10am in the Garden of Colonial with Joe Dwyer presiding.
Johnna Cay Plunkett was born in Amarillo, TX July 1st 1958 to John and Iris (Matney) Plunkett. She was a graduate of Canyon High School, and would finish her education by graduating from West Texas A&M with a Bachelors of Arts in Social Work.
She was a jack of all trades and loved to tell her kids about how she would climb telephone poles when she worked for Southwestern Bell. She loved to help people. She worked in customer service most of her life. She would take care of anyone & everyone.
Cay loved spending time with family. She was an amazing mother who dedicated her life to her kids, and when she became a grandmother her Grandkids were her life. She loved to tote her kids around to different activities and sporting events. She never missed them even if she had to go to three different events in one day. She loved having breakfast with her kids & grandkids, normally at Waffle House.
Cay enjoyed many hobbies. Some of her favorites were cooking & going to Church. She tried to attend all church activities. She truly enjoyed sewing and gardening.
She was caring, kind, joyful, unforgettable, and she made an impact on every life she touched. A strong woman, Cay was a fighter. She battled Kidney disease until she received a kidney transplant in 2008. She was giving, and never met a stranger. She was devout in her love for the King of Kings, Jesus.
Cay was preceded in death by a Daughter, Johnna King in 1994, her father John Plunkett in 2013, and her grandmother Iris S. Matney in 2001. Those left to cherish her memories are her sons Dustin & his wife Shyla, David & his wife Lacie, daughter Robin & her husband Benjamin; mother Iris Matney and Brothers Matt & Rob Plunkett. She also leaves behind to carry on her legacy 8 Grandchildren, Aidin King, Makayla Reeves, Kelton King, Kolton King, Kole Baber, Sophee McCrary, Ava King, and Kayson Baber.
