

Mr. Clark was born Dec. 28, 1934, in Snow Hill, N.C., to William and Maude Clark. He married Lennel Upsher in 1959, in Michigan City, Ind. She preceded him in death on Aug. 4, 1999. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1978. During that time he served in Vietnam, where he received several commendations. After he retired from the Army, he went to work for Pantex for 22 years until his retirement in 2000, where he served as a union steward. After retiring from Pantex, he worked for Plains Chevy and Brown Pontiac. Mr. Clark was a former director of Amarillo Men's Bowling Association. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 1475. A few of his enjoyments in life were bowling, fishing, playing cards and dominos, yardwork and spending time in his shop.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Debra Kaye McClure, in 1996, and Deborah Davis, in 2009; a brother, Leonard Lewis; and two sisters, Minnie Vee Ricketts and Lillie Mae Davis.
Survivors include a son, Patrick Clark of Amarillo; two daughters, Lani Clark of Amarillo and Peggie Ann Clement of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Willie B. Clark of Snow Hill, N.C.; a sister, Frances C. Warren of Dallas; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
