Juanita M. Hoff was born April 24, 1927 in Trafford, Alabama to Cisero and Zelma Motes. She joined her Lord and Savior on October 6, 2020. She married Fred Charles Hoff in Dallas on August 28, 1946. She was a fun loving, feisty woman with a zest for life. She was known as the fastest cotton picker and best yodeler on the mountain!
Juanita was a hard workingwoman with a sassy sense of humor. She worked at Amarillo Day Nursery as teacher, cook and dietitian for many rewarding years. She retired from IBP in Processing where she enjoyed making lasting friendships. Her true love was working with what she called her, “little people” as a senior caregiver. Juanita gave freely of her time and love. She was always there for anyone and quick to lend a hand to everyone, never asking for anything in return. She was a caregiver from the age of 6 for her siblings, her family was very important to her, especially Sunday dinners. She enjoyed hosting holidays and celebrating with her family, and co-workers always baking cakes and pies for them, not to mention her rolls and fresh baked bread!
Juanita was also a sharer of the “Bread of Life” as a Eucharistic minster. She was active in her church and sponsored several of her grandchildren into the Church. Her lesson for all was that, “No one is better than you, and you are no better than anyone else”. Throughout her life she always let us know God is in control. Juanita will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
