

Larry was born December 1, 1940 in Vernon, Texas to L.D. Lemon and Marie Bildstein Lemon.
He graduated Valedictorian at Lockett High School and graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in electrical engineering. Following graduation he immediately began his life’s career at Southwestern Public Service where he met the love of his life, Marilyn Jean Jones. Thereafter, the two soon married on July 22, 1967. He actually began his electrical engineering career quite early at the age of nine years when he totally rewired the family house located in the oil field near Vernon. In the Fifties he took a TV Repair correspondence course and set up a business repairing televisions around Vernon and the Waggoner Ranch. In order to make his way through college, he worked as a “Roustabout” in the oil field. During his tenure with SPS, he was assigned to implement the primary power service for the medical complex and street lighting at Amarillo’s Medi Park district. After 37 years of managerial service with SPC and Xcel, he retired to fully enjoy time with his beloved family. Larry was a kind, easy going individual always looking to help or assist others. With his extensive computer knowledge, he became the family “go to” anytime computer crisis erupted. He had a fun-loving sense of humor and ever available to lend-a-hand. He loved playing dominos and solving crosswords and Sudoku. Most of all, he cherished his family and never failed to demonstrate how dear they each were.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Marilyn.
He is survived by his daughter;Julie Lemon of Amarillo, Texas, a sister: Virginia Kieschnick of Vernon, Texas, nieces and nephews. Larry will be missed by both his friends and family.
