Lenora Jean West

Lenora Jean West, 87 of Amarillo passed away October 8, 2016. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Lenora was born December 18, 1928 in Abernathy to Henry and Velma Brown. She worked for the City of Amarillo from 1956 to 1964, then went to work as an insurance claim adjuster for St. Paul Insurance from 1964 to 1984. Lenora then went to work at Trinity Universal Insurance from 1984 to 1991 before returning to St. Paul Insurance until 1995. Her last employment was at Wienerschnitzel from 1995 to January 1, 2009. Lenora was a charter member of Southwest Church of Christ and was baptized at age 13 by Luther Roberts at Central Church of Christ. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be forever missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and her son, Jeff West. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Pringle and husband Robert; grandchildren, Casey Corey Cindy and Jackie; great-grandchildren, Yasmin, Hayden, Clint, Xavier, Bobby, Raygen, Cole and Breanne; also by her special friends at the Widow’s group of Southwest Church of Christ.
