She was born April 7, 1929 at home in Harvin County, Kentucky to Sylas and Julia Hobbs.
Lila married James Vick on October 5, 1947 and together they raised two children, in 1954 they moved to Texas. In Texas, Lila worked as a telephone operator for General Telephone Company in Memphis, Texas. Later in the 1970’s Lila was a secretary for Wayside Grain and Parker Cattle Company in Wayside, Texas. She enjoyed reading novels, working in her yard especially tending her roses, loved cooking, playing cards with her family, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter; Bonnie Simmons of Denton, Texas, son; J.E. Vick and wife Marsha of Wayside, Texas, granddaughters; Nichole Rivera and husband Jeff of Pike Rd, Alabama, NeAnne Clinton and husband Dave of Wakomis, Oklahoma, Jamie Butler and husband Brad Butler of Amarillo, grandson; Brandon Vick of Indiana, Pennsylvania, great-grandchildren; Abby, Jessie, Ryan, Brady, and Josh Clinton, Julia and Justin Rivera, Jonas and Harlan Vick of Indiana, Pennsylvania, one great-great-granddaughter; Clara Clinton, sister-in-law; Shirley Riggins and husband Harry Riggins of Amarillo, along with many relatives from Kentucky and the Panhandle of Texas.
Lila is preceded in death by her parents, husband; James E. Vick, sisters; Juanita, Jesse, and Catherine, brothers; Clarence, Raymond, and Junior.
