Linda Sue Donais, age 80, of Canyon, Texas, passed from this life on October 13, 2025. She was born on April 7, 1945, in Huntington Beach, California, to Walter R. Lewis and Catherine Landers. Linda graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1962 and married the love of her life, Paul L. Donais, on August 15, 1963. Together, they shared over 62 wonderful years of marriage and raised two sons, Walt and Ken. Linda had a passion for bowling that began in the 1973–1974 season at Grand Bowl and continued for 50 years. She was a familiar and beloved presence at Western Bowl, where she worked for approximately 17 years. Linda was more than just a bowler—she was a mentor who loved teaching children how to bowl and sharing her enthusiasm for the sport. Her dedication was recognized with prestigious awards, including AWBA Woman of the Year in 1993 and AWBA Secretary of the Year in 1984. Outside of bowling, Linda enjoyed fishing and took pride in her home and family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a caring grandmother and great-grandmother. Linda is survived by her husband, Paul L. Donais; her sons, Walter E. Donais and Kenneth W. Donais; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter R. Lewis (March 18, 2004) and Marcella “Dot” Lewis (December 31, 1979), as well as her brother, Wade M. Lewis (September 21, 2025). Linda will be remembered for her generous spirit, her dedication to her family and community, and the lasting impact she had on everyone who knew her.
