Lola Fern Simmons
December 1, 1937 – October 31, 2018
Lola F. Simmons, age 80, of Shell Knob, Missouri, went to be with her loving Savior on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Mrs. Simmons, daughter of Raymond and Olive (McGavock) Chisum, was born on December 1, 1937, in Tulia, Texas. On September 16, 1956, she married the love of her life, William “T” Simmons; he survives. Mrs. Simmons was a very loving, caring woman who was beautiful inside and out. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending her life spoiling her husband and girls. Lola was very proud of her family and lived her life for them and Jesus; she was a member of the Lakeside Christian Church in Shell Knob.
Mama, you have given so much as a wife and mother, and asked for so little in return. Thank you for always being there for us, for teaching us, helping and forgiving us, listening to us, and especially for loving us. You will be missed greatly, but we know we will be together again.
Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-two years, “T” Simmons, of Shell Knob; two daughters, Deana Hooten and her husband Sheldon, of Cassville, and Joni Walker and her husband Chris, of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren, Sean Hooten, of Shell Knob, Kala Hooten Webster, of Gentry Arkansas, and Shayla Walker, Charles Walker, and Kerri Walker, all of Amarillo, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Steven Hooten, Silas Webster, Cade Webster, and Aliyah Walker.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas.
