Lucy Mae Yannis

Lucy was born to Ben and Nita Jane Ratliff on June 8, 1925 in Amarillo, Texas. She married Joseph Vincent Yannis on November 3, 1944. She graduated from Mary Hardin Baylor University with a degree in music. She taught in the Amarillo School System until she and Joe both retired in 1986. Lucy enjoyed teaching private piano lessons in her home. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, where she sang in trios, the choir, and The Living Christmas Tree. She and Joe enjoyed making porcelain dolls by hand after their retirement along with traveling the United States with their RV friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Lucy always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Lucy was preceded by her husband, Joseph, parents and brother Craig Ratliff.

Lucy is survived by daughter Jody Stokes of Ft. Worth; son Dr. Rex Yannis and wife Amy of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren Sarah Cantrell of Fort Worth; Katy Carroll of Arcadia, OK; Ellianna Yannis of Chattanooga, TN; Josh Rice of Houston, and great-grandchildren Logan and Sydney Cantrell of Ft. Worth.
