Marilyn Frances Haugh Buckley, 83 of Amarillo, Texas passed away September 10, 2023. Marilyn was born on November 16, 1939 in Borger, Texas to Hugh and Jenny Haugh. She graduated from Phillips High School in 1958. She married the love of her life, Stewart on October 17, 1959. Marilyn loved the community she was in no matter where it was. She was involved in many different organizations. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, as well as a member of Jaycee's Girls in Borger. She also loved helping organize her school reunions and her several poodles over the years, Jacque, Molly, Megan, Mindy and Max.
Together, she and Stewart owned and operated Buckley's Shoe Store in Borger, Texas. They adopted their daughter, Kim in 1963 at six weeks old, and just two years later, they completed their little family when they adopted their son, Joel in 1966 at four weeks old. Marilyn and Stewart decided to sell the family shoe store in Borger and moved their family to Amarillo, Texas.
When they moved to Amarillo, Marilyn started working for TDCJ-ID William P. Clements Unit until she retired. After retirement, she spent her days spending time with her family, baking and cooking. She loved cooking for her family, but it was always a special treat when she got to enjoy the coconut shrimp at Red Lobster. She took such great pride in her baking and was famous for her chocolate chip cream cheese cake, white fudge at Christmas, and layered dessert.
Marilyn was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend and she will be greatly missed by many.
