Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bill G. Hooten as well as her parents Ed and Alice Allen of Amarillo, by many beloved sisters, brothers, and their wonderful spouses.
Marilyn is survived by five children, all of Amarillo, Texas—Norman, Stan and his wife Sherri, Beverly and husband Richard Fowler, Robin and husband Monty Downs, and Jeff and wife Jodi Hooten. She is survived by six grandchildren—Staci, Sarah, Steven, Connor, Jenna and Joshua as well as many step grandchildren, nieces and nephews and great grandchildren.
Marilyn worked for thirty-two years as a teachers aide at South Georgia Elementary School after raising her five kids. Marilyn is the last charter member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church.
The family requests any memorials or honorariums be given to Hidden Happiness Assisted Living Center in care of Jessica Wilson.
A funeral service for Marilyn will be held Monday, December 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 East Interstate 40, Amarillo, Texas 79118.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are her grandchildren.
