Martha “June” Sanders, 91, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on May 22, 2025. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 fro 5-7 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6969 I-40 East, Amarillo, Texas.
June was born June 25, 1933, to Hulen Massey and Mary Elizabeth Rosenbaum in Delhi, Oklahoma. She was born in her Grandparents' country home in Delhi. She attended Delhi High School. June married Gerald Edgar Sanders of Sayre, OK on May 30, 1950, in Clovis, New Mexico. They made their home in Amarillo, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Sanders, her sister, Lena Gattis, and a grandson, Dustin Edgar-Cole Sanders, and her niece, Cheryl Gattis.
She is survived by her sons, Barry Sanders and wife, Linda of Bosque Farms, New Mexico; Gary Sanders and wife, Janet, of Amarillo, Texas; her daughters, Becky Simms and husband, Dale, of Amarillo, Texas, and Tonya Jennings and husband, Neal, of Amarillo, Texas. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, and other loving family members and close friends.
June had a love of children and a special place in her heart for her pets. There was hardly a time that she was not raising children and always had her beloved pets. She will be missed but we know she is rejoicing being together with her beloved husband again.
