Mary Catherine Oneal Henderson, 85, of Amarillo, TX, went home to heaven on Saturday January 29, 2022. A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St., Amarillo, Texas 79109. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 4, 2022 at 2:00 PM, 5400 Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109. A graveside service will occur Friday, February 4, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6969 East Interstate 40, Amarillo, Texas 79118.
Mary was born May 13, 1936 in Amarillo, TX to Floyd Oneal and Mary Ellen Oneal. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1954. That was a good year for Mary because she married the love of her life Presley Allen Fowler on March 27, 1954. That union brought them three wonderful children. Mary was left a young widow in 1975.
She worked for Pantex Credit Union, Plains Federal Credit Union and Huneke Furniture and was an amazing bookkeeper.
Mary married Emmitt Henderson in 1978. They were married for 35 years.
Mary loved being around family and friends, she will be missed by all. She is survived by her children Denny and Marcie Fowler of Dallas, Jerry and Tammy Fowler of Amarillo, and Dee and Tim Schwartz of Amarillo.
She had nine grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. All will miss their Grandma Kay.
