Mary was born on April 29, 1933 in Clarendon, Texas to Gene and Florence Hester.
She was raised in the Clarendon area most of her life. She entered nursing, where she would meet her future husband Raymond Lee Rutherford Sr., a marriage that would last 64 years. She worked for BSA Hospital as an RN before retiring at the age of 62. Mary loved to play bridge and had a love for square dancing. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church shortly after its inception and was also in the church choir.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Raymond Lee Rutherford, one sister;
Cymantha, two brothers; Rodgers Sr. and John.
Those left to cherish her memories are her sons; Raymond Lee Rutherford Jr, Douglas Wayne Rutherford and wife Trulene, and Brian Keith Rutherford, as well as grandchildren; Mindy, Shayne, and Nichole, great-grandchildren; Joseph and Henry, nieces; Shirley, Pat, Gail, and Johna, nephew; Rodgers Jr, and many great nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by both family and friends.
