Methel was born December 3, 1941 in Midland, Texas to Luther and Methel Martin. She married Ronald Dendy in 1959 and soon began filling her home with children to whom she would pass on her greatest quality of having a caring and compassionate heart.
Methel would knit and crochet blankets for her children and grandchildren. She greatly enjoyed going out for a hamburger and coke with her family. Her love for people would translate into her creating a home that was open to anyone that needed or wanted a little extra love. She was always on the go, travelling and seeking adventures across the country. She loved visiting Las Vegas and Laughlin with her friends to watch Dwight Yoakum and Thunder from Down Under.
Methel earned her nursing degree in 1980 and was able to show the full strength of her compassion through the care for her patients at St. Anthony’s Hospital and Quail Creek Nursing Home. Those closest to Methel would come to lovingly know her as Midge. Though she may have had a small stature, she possessed a fierce personality to defend her family and set them on the right path when they strayed.
Midge is preceded in death by her parents Luther and Methel, three brothers Alvis, James, and Ricky Martin, sister Shirley Yerg; and son Doug Dendy. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter Donna Dunlap and husband Michial, son Jack Dendy and wife Cathye, daughter Ann Biemer and husband Scott, and daughter Kelly Dendy. She also leaves behind her 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren, most of which were taller than her!
