Services will be held December 5, 2018 at 2pm in the Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 5400 S. Bell.
Mickey was born to Earl and Martha Carter June 13, 1944. Mickey would find the love of his life Janet, where they would marry August 3, 1964 at Grace Baptist Church. He was a Jack of all trades and a friend to everyone. He attended all of his son’s campouts and meetings with the Boy Scouts. Mickey would try just about anything in life, but his passions where hunting and fishing with his sons. He was an instructor and a life member of Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA) and National Rifle Association (NRA) and instructed woman’s pistol class, along by his side was his best friend of 50 years, R.E Phillips. He was a Master Mason, Shriner, and worthy Patron for the Eastern Star. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was riding motorcycles or camping, but loved being in the mountains with his family. Mickey worked at the Country Barn for 25 years then would retire from Texas Department of Corrections.
Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Martha Carter, sister, Peggy Pearce, and his best friend, Bill Brice. Those left to cherish his memory are His wife Janet, son, Cecil Carter and wife Melissa, son, Robert Carter and wife Erin their daughters, Emily and Clair. Cousin Sarah and husband Dave Clark, Niece, Ashley and husband Grant Looney, Great Niece Brooklyn Looney.
