Olen Richerson, 88 of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018. The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the funeral home. Services will be Monday, January 15, 2018 at 10am in the Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Brother Cliff Houghton officiating. Olen was born on July 15, 1929 to Everett and Grace Richerson. He graduated from Estelline High School in 1947. On July 29, 1950, he married Mary Baskin and soon after joined the United States Army in 1951, serving in Korea. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He could be found many afternoons at local senior citizens centers where he enjoyed many card games, but especially dominos. He and his wife were members of the Fairview Assembly of God for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Grace. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary, his son David Richerson and wife Pam of Amarillo, his brother Bruce Richerson and wife Patty of South Carolina, his sister Maurice Hartelode of Michigan, two grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to any of the local senior citizens centers. Arrangements under the direction of Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, Amarillo, TX.
