

Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Griggs Schooler Gordon Pioneer Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial park Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St.
Agnes "Opal" Otinger was born Jan. 17, 1921, in Jackson County, Ala., to Delbert and Stella Monroe Otinger. After her parents' deaths, she made her home with the Rev. and Mrs. L.J. Ashley. On Aug. 1, 1937, she married Grady Smith. They were married 70 years. They moved to Amarillo in 1955 from Fort Payne, Ala. They were devoted to God, family, friends and each other.
Opal was a member of Paramount Baptist church. She was very creative and involved in many handicrafts. Her home with Grady was welcome to one and all. Opal is now with her beloved Grady. Granny, you will be in our hearts forever.
The family wishes to thank her friends for their love and support, and to Country Club Nursing and Rehab and Odyssey Hospice Care for their loving care.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two younger brothers, Thurston and William; a sister, Peggy Jacobs; and a brother in Amarillo, Gene OTanger.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Sue Swan and husband David of Broken Arrow, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Steve, Janet and David Swan, Paul, Michelle and Drake Wamsley, all of Tulsa, Okla., and Michael Swan of Broken Arrow.
