Paul Anthony Gouge, 62, of Amarillo, passed away on September 25, 2025. A graveside service for Paul will be held Monday, September 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6969 I-40 E., Amarillo, Texas 79118.
After graduating from TSTI, Paul spent much of his life working as a mechanic. He never met a car he couldn’t fix, and took pride in solving what others could not. His passion for cars was matched by his love of animals, especially his cats.
Paul was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. Even in hard times, he could make people laugh, often turning struggles into stories worth sharing. He never met a stranger and enjoyed striking up conversations wherever life took him.
He is survived by his brother, John Gouge; his sister, Virginia Vitatoe and her husband, Shelby; and several nieces, great-nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hilda Gouge; a sister, Theresa Gouge; sister-in-law, Ellen Gouge; and two great-nephews.
Though life brought challenges, Paul was a man of faith who trusted Christ as his Savior. He found joy in his animals, in moments of friendship, and in the memories of family. He looked forward to the peace that awaited him and the comfort of eternal rest.
Paul will be remembered for his humor, his love of cars and animals, and the way he could turn a simple conversation into a lasting memory.
