Peggy Sue Moore walked through the gates of heaven surrounded by loved ones on September 22, 2023. Peggy was born on February 26, 1938, to John and Faye Thomas. She was wonderful, kind, loving and a very giving woman. Her faith was very important to her, and she cherished that fact that she was a member of Bolton Street Baptist church for more than 50 years.
Peggy graduated from Palo Duro High school and then attended Amarillo College where she earned her LVN. One of the favorite places Peggy practiced nursing was the Faye Thomas Rest Home which her mother founded here in Amarillo, TX. Kenneth and Peggy also had several rental properties. Peggy enjoyed sharing stories and developing relationships with the renters and many of them became close friends.
Peggy’s family was important to her, she loved being Granny and Nana to her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Edna (if you know, you know) Bruno and her prized 1955 Crown Victoria will miss her deeply. Peggy enjoyed gardening, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved listening to Elvis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life Kenneth Moore who she was married to for 59 years, her brother JC Thomas and her sister Wynona “Sis” Duke.
She is survived by her sons Tommy “Shorty” Moore, Ronnie Moore and his wife Hillary, her daughter Tammie Moore-Loehe and the great-grandson she raised and loved as her own child Killian Loehe. Five grandchildren Terry Sue Moore, Jennifer Daffern, Kristin Hinojos, Jon Loehe and Elizabeth Massey along with 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Peggy will be deeply missed.
