Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014 at Memorial Park Cemetery North Mausoleum with Pastor Jim Shelburne officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Directors.
Priscilla “Nana” was born in Morris, OK to LeRoy and Edna Mae VanSkike. She was raised in the Amarillo area. She attended Amarillo High School where she was a member of the pep squad. Priscilla married Carl Ray Stover on June 23, 1934, in Clovis NM. She retired from AISD where she was a cashier. During that time she worked for Amarillo High, Tascosa High and Palo Duro High. After retirement Priscilla spent her time babysitting, volunteering at the Harrington Cancer Center where she received many awards, crocheting, ceramics, and watching the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. Priscilla also enjoyed going to Oklahoma and sitting under the trees where she watched the horses and deer. She was a life member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs, a member of ABWA, Woodman of the World and Wild Rose Lodge. Priscilla was the oldest member of the Second Baptist Church where she served as secretary in her Sunday School class.
Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 sisters, June Oglesby, Shirley Trotter and Donna Drummond; a daughter in law Patsy Stover; a son in law Clyde Sconce; and a grandson in law, Don Elliott.
Priscilla is survived by a son, Dannie Merl Stover of Amarillo; 2 daughters, Judith Ann Galusha of Flippin, ARK and Linda Sconce of Hugo, OK; grandchildren, Cheryl Stover, Susan Elliott, Karen Kelin and husband Vernon, Carla Stover, Carl Clyde Sconce and wife Debbie, Doretta Dotson and Christopher Stover and wife Colleen; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren and many great nursing home friends that called her “NANA”
