Rebecca "Becky" Martin Lacy

Rebecca “Becky” Martin Lacy, 65, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on January 2, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for 10am, Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Chapel. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 5-7pm, Friday, January 5, 2023 at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Chapel.

Becky was born on February 27, 1958 to Billy Frank Martin and Myrna Jean Martin in Amarillo, Texas. She grew up in Amarillo, Texas and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1976. Becky worked as a Supervisor ll for the Texas Department of Health and Human Services for Medicaid for the elderly and people with disabilities for 31 years. She greatly enjoyed time spent with her family and playing bingo and going to the horse races in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Becky was a very devoted Mother to her two boys, Mitchell and Micah. She also greatly loved her fur babies, Coco, Cutie, and Buster. Becky was also the proud “Aunt Puppy” to her nieces and nephews.

Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Myrna Martin and her cousin and best friend, Tana Gotcher.

Survivors left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mitchell Lacy of Midland, Texas and Micah Lacy, of Amarillo; her father, Bill Martin; sister, Rida Edwards and husband, Kirk; her niece, Kalisha Howard and husband, Jason; nephew, Kyle Edwards and wife, Lindsay; her great niece Madison Howard and Kennedy Howard, Kensington Edwards and great nephew Cameron Edwards, all of Amarillo, the father of her children, Larry Lacy of Shamrock; grandmother to her children, Linda Mitchell of Wellington; her handpicked adopted sons, Brandon Perdue of Amarillo and Isaac Thompson of Finley Ville, Pennsylvania her best friends, Becky Howard, Molly Bridges, and Becky Tidwell all of Amarillo; her numerous friends and coworkers from the Texas Department of Health and Human Services; and numerous extended family members and friends who will all miss her greatly.
