Ricky Lee Warren

Ricky Lee Warren, age 73, of Hurst, Texas passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023. Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 5th, 2023 at 10:00 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40 in Amarillo, TX with Jay Franks officiating.

Ricky was born on August 19, 1949, in Amarillo, TX to Willis and Jean Warren. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1967 and started working for Santa Fe Railroad, which he retired from in 2012. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his wife of 32 years, watching movies and spending time with family.

Ricky never met a stranger, he would talk to anyone and could talk for hours. He would know the full history of the person he just met by the time he walked away. Ricky was loved by many and will be greatly missed, along with many others whom he mentored as a coach over the years. Up until his passing, he still kept in touch with several of his athletes. He will be forever known as the sweet and caring soul that he was.

Ricky is preceded in death by his parents Willis and Jean Warren, his sister Carolyn, three brothers Timothy Warren, Willis Warren, Johnny Warren, and wife Vonnie of 32 years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son Anthony Warren of Turkey, TX and daughter Laina Grimland and husband Jimmy of Rowlett, TX.; stepdaughters Cindy Shipe of Euless, TX, Loni Karnes and husband Brady of Era, TX, Kathy Cheney and husband Stephen of Amarillo, TX, Dawn London and husband Mark of Shawboro, NC; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces.
