Mr. Hess was born unto Mr. Frank William Hess Sr. and Mrs. Ella Mae Seiber Hess. Robert served his country during WWII with the United States Navy. He married the love of his life Laurayne Duval on January 1, 1942. He moved to Amarillo in 1969. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad for 43 years as an Electrical Foreman. Robert loved playing bingo, cards, fishing and hunting. He loved playing baseball and football. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank William Hess Sr. Ella Mae Hess; 2 sisters; Frances M. Whitehead; Minnie Faye Stewart; 1 brother; Frank William Hess Jr. all of Topeka Kansas. Survivors include his wife; one son; Steven R. Hess and wife Carole of Kingsland, Texas; one daughter Marsha Swan and husband Jim of Sanger, Texas. Two sisters; Betty Michael and Bonnie Tice of Topeka Kansas; Five Grandchildren; Eleven Great-Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
