Robert was born in Omaha, NE on July 16, 1942. His family relocated to Amarillo in the 50's, where Robert graduated from Tascosa High School. He was on the Tascosa Wrestling Team and was awarded a city championship one year. He joined the Marines after graduating, and proudly served his country in Okinawa. After the military, he worked at Pantex, and then for Southwestern Bell as a Communications Technician. He had two children from his first marriage, J.R. and April. He married Gayle MacMillian in 1983 and spent 30 years with her before her passing in 2013. He was a much appreciated volunteer at the Osage Volunteer Fire Department and Randall County Fire Rescue; he dearly loved dressing up and scaring customers at the Fire Department Haunted House on Halloween, and playing on the softball team. Robert loved the outdoors; spending Easter holiday at Palo Duro Canyon with family, and traveling all over the country in their RV - the mountains of Colorado and their place in Pendaries, New Mexico held a special place in Robert's and Gayle's hearts. Not one to shy away from new experiences, Robert took up woodcarving in his 60's, and began taking guitar lessons at the age of 80. He developed a deep love for karaoke, singing in nursing homes and every possible venue when traveling (be it RV trip or cruise ship) and making cherished friendships along the way.
Robert is survived by his sons; J.R. MacMillian, William T. Murdock, Charles E. Hawthorne, Jr. daughters; April McGrew, Jonnie Duggan, Amber Glascock, Calissa Murdock, brother; Gary MacMillian, grandchildren; Bev Fremin, Matthew Fremin, Echo Frnka, Zoe McGrew, Trey Duggan, Winford Maddox, Jr, Jalen McKinney, Nora Glassco, and great-grandsons; Kai Glassco-Fillyaw, Jamieson Duggan.
