Roger was an uplifting person.  I worked with  him at the funeral home.   Always smiling

Roger was a very sweet man and coworker.     Always concerned about other people.

I first met Roger in the early 90s when he was managing the store in Wellington and I was managing a store in Childress, both owned by Hubert Jones. Then our paths crossed again at Affiliated. Roger was always eager to help or lend advice, and when someone called break, he was quick to remind me that I got a break when I got this job.  I will miss that.  Good job, Roger.  Rest In Peace my friend. My condolences to the family.

Randy sai,”Roger made the suit look good!”

Randy said, “when there was a big event, most of us looked better dressed up in a suit, but Roger carried himself in a way that he made the suit look better, because it was on him!”

Roger was always a sweet friend.
We started Sunday school and church together at an early age.
When I was back in Wellington, Mother would always take me by to see him.
She was close friends with his Mother, Aunt Pauline and all the Amarillo relatives.
I know he will be missed. Rest In Peace Roger.

I’ve worked with Roger for the past 15 years. Was my favorite person on the “crew”.
I will miss him tremendously.

Reece went to school with Roger. He may have been into some of the same  stuff with Tim Cates and Joe Montgomery.  Actually he has told me some of the things they did growing up

Roger was my friend for 70 years. We went to grade school together, jr high together, high school together, worked at the City Grocery together, moved to Amarillo together, lived together in Amarillo, Worked at Furr Food together and at the end worked at Affiliated Foods together. Some said Roger was old school---well he was. the old school taught him that his word was his bond. It taught him to work hard and be honest in his business dealings. He carried the over into the new school. This made him a Grocery Man second to none. I can't tell you how new emoloyees have told me how much they have learned off Roger. I can tell you this, if God has a grocery store up there---he justed called up the best Grocery Man that walked the face of the earth. To Rogers family I can't tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Its going to be so hard to walk into that store in the morning and know Roger is not there. Roger, many thanks for your service to Affiliated Food and to the  entire Grocery business. I say this bravo Roger bravo for a job well done. Thanks for being my friend for 70 years. Rest in piece! See you on the other side.
