August 16, 1939 – June 26, 2018
Ronald Carless Crump, age 78, of Amarillo, Texas died Tuesday, June 26, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Thursday, June 28, 2018, from 6-8 pm at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Director 5400 Bell St. Memorial service will be Friday, June 29, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church, 3001 Wolflin Ave, Amarillo, with Rev. Barry Loving officiating. Ron was born in Estelline, Texas on August 16, 1939, to Arless and Lois Crump and was the middle son of three boys. After high school, he married Shalon Crabtree of Childress, Texas. They moved to Amarillo and had 2 children, Cindy born in 1960 and Dean born in 1964. He began a career with the U.S. postal service in 1960 and retired at the age of 62 in Billings, Montana. He moved back to Amarillo in 1999 to be close to his family. He married Clara Sailor from Pampa, Texas on January 17, 2004. Ronald considered himself to be a lucky and blessed man because of the exceptional family he knew he had. His family was the most important thing in his life. He was a man of simplicity, generosity, kindness, and an ornery sense of humor. His marriage to Clara enriched his life even further with even more adoring family members. He thought he was the lucky one, but all his family knew that they were lucky to have him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arless Crump, his mother Lois Crump, his brother Kenneth Crump, and his niece Elesa Crump. Memorial can be made in his name to Sunshine Ministry through First Christian Church in Pampa or the Elesa Crump Memorial Scholarship through Amarillo Area Foundation. He is survived by his wife Clara Crump, his daughter Cindy Allen and her husband Kelvin of Canyon, his son Dean Crump and his wife Nicki of Amarillo, his stepdaughter Brenda Strahand and her husband Gaylon of Houston, Texas, his step-son Don Kite and wife Vickie of Amarillo, stepdaughter Katherine Hinton and husband Matt of Pampa, his brother Donald Crump and his wife Carol of Las Vegas, his sister-in-law Peggy Crump of Amarillo, and his niece Rita Lewis and husband Gary of Chandler, Arizona, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 tiny angels who loved their "pawl" dearly, and many nieces, nephews, and friends who all love him. He will be greatly missed but his memory will live on forever.

Keith, Ronald and Donald were longtime friends of mine from Estelline. Ronald had the sweetest smile and always said something funny whenever we met. The Crumps were a wonderful family. I cannot remember not knowing them when we were growing up and attending school in Estelline. Most of the girls had a crush on Ronald as he was very good looking with a great personality. He will be missed by many. May God bless and watch over this family.
