

Ronald Jay Youree of Amarillo, TX was born to Woodvin and Deila Mae Youree on March 10, 1940 in Cañon City, Colorado. He passed from this life on November 19, 2015 in Canadian, TX. Ronald was a Christian and had attended San Jacinto Baptist Church.

Ronald grew up in Hedley, TX where he attended school, graduating from Hedley High School in 1959. After graduation, Ronald moved to Amarillo where he worked for Maywood Door Company for many years and then for Amarillo ISD, before retiring. Ronald loved bowling, dancing, wrestling and music, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He also loved Elvis Presley’s music and made several trips to Graceland and was an on again off again Cowboys fan. Ronald was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed, especially by his nieces and nephews and their children, who lovingly knew him as Uncle RoRo.
He was preceded in death by his parents Woodvin and Deila, a brother Jimmy Youree, sister-in-law Pat Youree, brother-in-law Jerald Sims, brother-in-law JL Poff, sister-in-law Judy Youree, nephew Jay Charles Poff, and great-niece Amy Youree.
He is survived by sisters Joan Mabry and husband Joe of Pampa, Tx, Sandra Poff of Elk City, OK, and his twin brother Donald Youree and wife Mickey of Amarillo. He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Ronald’s special friend Chris Brothers, and especially the staff of the Edward Abraham Memorial Home in Canadian, and the Hemphill County Hospital and Hospice for their love and care during Ronald’s last days.
