Born on December 31, 1940 in Amarillo, TX to Pablo Rodriguez and Juanita Mejia. He lived sometime in Ohio and San Antonio, TX before returning to Amarillo, TX in 1959 at the age of 19. On February 9,1961 he married the love of his life Mary Frances Levario. They had a beautiful 64 years of marriage and were blessed with 4 beautiful children.
Ruben worked 34 years at Miller Radiator and 16 years at Tyson Foods. Although he was only 5' Ruben had the heart of a GIANT. Ruben was a light to every person he came in contact with. He was loving, patient, kind, and slow to anger, and he would give the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket. He truly was a heart of gold. He found joy in spending time with family weather it was a BBQ, a holiday get together or a late night bonfire just to sit and talk about life. He enjoyed working on his yard and was a very devoted Dallas Cowboys' fan. He was known to his wife as Hun and Dad to his children but for most he was known as just Pampo.
He is survived by his devoted wife Mary Frances Rodriguez of Amarillo, his son's Ruben Rodriguez Jr. of D.F.W, John Rodriguez of Austin, and Cynthia Justus of Amarillo, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. Sister Catherine Miller, and Brother Juan "Johnny" Rodriguez.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pablo and Juanita Rodriguez, his daughter Connie Frances Reynolds, his grandson Lonnie R. Smith Jr., granddaughter Mattison H Graves, his sisters Gloria Rodriguez, Minerva Rodriguez, Pauline Rolens, Ramona Casillas, Maria Hughes.
