Ruby Nell Sandlin

Ruby Nell Sandlin died Thursday, August 11, 2011. Ruby and her twin sister, Alice, were born May 21, 1931 to Bill and Lela Rinestine in Nara Visa, NM. She married Mitchell “Ted” Sandlin on December 24, 1949 in Amarillo. She worked for Sears Roebuck & Co for more than 30 years. Ruby loved to garden, tole paint with oils and acrylics, crochet and could fix just about anything. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ruby enjoyed sewing and kept her children dressed fashionably for many years. She was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church and Sears Pioneer Club. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Bryan; one daughter, Gayla; her parents, one brother, John Rinestine and a brother-in-law C. L. Garner

Survivors include; Daughters, Sharon Randall and husband Tim and Jennifer Sandlin of Amarillo

Her twin sister, Alice Garner of Dalhart; 2 brothers, Bill Rinestine and wife Barbara of Dumas, James Rinestine and wife Renee of Nara Visa, NM.

5 Grandchildren, Ami Lawson, Isaac Thompson, Dalton Randall, Melanie Brewer, Sara Satterfield and husband Daniel

4 Great-Grandchildren, Harvey Barnett, Phebe , Noah and Tulley Satterfield. Many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The family would like to thank the loving staff of Odyssey Hospice and The Texan Nursing Home for the tender care they gave to Ruby during her last months.
