

Russell Lance Gullixson, 76 of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021. He was born May 21, 1945 to Elizabeth and Col. Russell Lance Gullixson in Spokane, WA where he went to school. Russell was employed most his life with the railroad, starting in car management. He moved up to an officer in 1966 in Spokane. He was a trainer all over the country with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post 149 for many years. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and will be remembered by post cards he sent and collected from all over the world. He was passionate about providing to those in need and was a member in standing for the Special Olympics.
Russell is preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth and Col. Russell Lance Gullixson as well as his brother Bruce Burk Gullixson.
He is survived by his wife and partner, Mary Ellen Gullixson of the home, two sons; John Brown and wife Diane and Mike Brown, a daughter Debbie Potts and husband Jason, two lifelong friends since Roosevelt Grade School; Liz Magnussan and Rich Davis both of Athol, WA, seven grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hope Veterinary Clinic.
