During her time on this earth, she graced many families with the birthing of newborn babies as an LVN, licensed vocational nurse, for nearly 10 years. Later, she completed her Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Proficiency. Sharon provided a local business with dedicated support for many years until she became disabled. But she wasn’t done yet! She then went on to achieve an Associate’s Degree in Computer Sciences with her granddaughter. This last degree was earned by our graduate when she was 56. Why? Because she wanted to!!
Outside of her love for education, Sharon held another love even closer to her heart. Sharon fell in love with Mack Thomas when she 17 years old. It was a love that lasted 62 years and on into eternity. Mack was the love of her life and she was the apple of his eye. It was the kind of love that sees people through the ups and downs of life and one that will find each other again in the afterlife.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Thomas, her father and mother, Milton and Esta Calhoon, her sister, Dorothy Lee Frazier, and her granddaughter, Talitha Thomas. She is survived by her four children, Steve Andrews, Donald Thomas, Ricky Thomas, and Cynthia Thomas. She is also survived by her sisters, Jean Hoppe and Louis Dittmeyer. She leaves her legacy to her grandchildren, Mari Wyatt, Johnathan Thomas, Carolynne Ford, Christina Andrews, and Christopher Andrews as well as her five great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
My amazing grandmother graduated from her earthly classroom on May 11, 2021 and was accepted into Heaven's University. She excelled in subjects of generosity, kindness, and shenanigans. She cared for her family and friends in such a way that any granddaughter would be proud of. Congratulations, Sharon Louise Thomas!! Heaven is incredibly lucky to have you on its roll call!!!
